Finally Finished

I HAVE FORTY HOURS. !!!!! YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS so i know you are thinking of how i came up with other eight hours so i let me tell you. Since we had a whole week off on monday i put in some hours i dont want to sa y many but i know for sure it was at least three, on wednesday i put a few as well and then today was my final day.

For some reason i really do not think that anyone had a last day like me. Everyone told me by including the president, and my mentor gave me a gift. I just really think i was really lucky to get a volunteership that was so personalized. In a way it is really good altogether and really good to know people. The Urban League is a really well known organization with a really good rep. and i dont think they have many interns in fact i was the only intern. All of them wanted to know if i needed anything and they were really good about letting me know that they are happy to write me any recommendation letters if i needed one, so this was really nice and in the end i am really happy.

Almost done

Like the responsible person that i am almost done ith volunteership now have 33 hours. To be totally honest i dont kno what i am going to do when we stop doing volunteership because i have now became so accustomed to going there three times a week i am not sure what i am going to do with all this spare time i am about to have. All in all in the beggining i know i was hassling eli pretty hard and un open to this assignment but in the end it turned out to be really meaningful.. thanks

Its Official !!! I have 25 Hrs.

This is so crazy i have been working really hard not like, ohhhh i am so worn down kindof hard but where i am being really helpful for someone in the same department and in other departsments as well. So basically what i did was I researched about a list of topics that my mentor had given me and made sure that unlike very few times in school, i need to not just throw in any articles that are not very helpful to my mentor for her to use, but i need to find some that are very good. Surprisingly i found a lot of very good articles that were very helpful to my mentor. I also read  most of them and made sure to write like a really brief little summary about each of the articles, even though she did not tell me too, but i figured if i just sent out a whole thing of just random links that would not be helpful to anyone at all, which inturn would defeit the purpose of me even being here in the first place.

40 hours here i come 

Big Project

This is another update. This is actually really exciting. So what is happening is i am doing research on different topics so that my mentor can write huge grant. My mentor was telling me that if they recieve this grant everybody gets paid and i mean like paid they get new computers and everything. I am very honered to be able to be apart of the writing by providing some information.

Another Update

Hello everyone this is Serena Updating you with my amount of hours. So know I have 16 hours total. But beyond that let me tell you what i have been doing or what i am currently working on. Right now i am working on writing a script for a tella prompter for a summinar that they are having, at hoover, like i said i knew that they were having something on Wednesday but i know for sure that i am not going to be able to make it, so i am glad that i am at least a little able to contribute something

Another Awesome update

Ok so so far i have 14 hrs wihich is super cool, right. and then on top of that i really like what i am doing there with, my organization. So far I have been doing some random stuff that is going to put together one big grat piece in the end. I think that my mentor lady told me that something was happening on Wednesday but i have a doc appointment on wednesday so i dont know what to do but i will find an answer

I GOT A VOLUNTEER SHIP WITH THE URBAN LEAGUE. So last monday i went and had my first interview and funny story i actually kindof know one of the people who i am going to be working with. So its not to awkward. In a weird kindof way i actually wanted it to be a little weird because often when i go somewhere i know or have met the people that i would have been working with or what have you.

But anyways they were telling me all that i will be doing and it deffinitely seems like i will be working with a but load of people on everything imaginable the crazy thing is that they are going to have me doing something around grant writing and event planning and other stuff. This is only crazy because they didnt even know that grant writing is a plus for what we are allowed to do. So i really start doing whatever they want on Wednesday and that will be like the official first day of my volunteer ship

Oh funny story when i told them what this whole thing was called like not intership and like not volunteering but its actually calle bolunteership they were like what is that lol. But yeah i will keep you posted
